To Steal an iPhone, A Teenager Did What?

Police are seeking a young black male who they say sprayed an unknown substance in the eyes of a man and stole an iPhone in Pleasant Hill.

A man was robbed of his iPhone on Harvard Drive Tuesday morning when an assailant asked for directions and then sprayed something in the victim's eyes.

According to Pleasant Hill police, the victim was walking down Harvard Drive when he was approached by a black male in his late teens wearing dark clothing. When the teen asked for directions, the victim pulled out his iPhone and looked it up on the map. The assailant asked to see the map – when the victim showed him the phone, he was sprayed in the eyes with an unknown substance. The assailant then grabbed the phone and ran, police said.

The victim was treated for eye irritation and is otherwise unharmed. Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call the Investigation Division of the Pleasant Hill Police Department at (925) 288-4600.
