The homeowner told police he watched as the Asian male juvenile used his skateboard to strike two exterior lights on his outside planter box, damaging them.

The resident gave chase, catching up to the group at the corner of Rimer and Hodges drive and telling them to return to his home as the police had been summoned. They fled, however, and could not be located by officers.

Patch has seen and heard about a group of skaters answering this description roaming the neighborhoods late at night, challenging cars to hit them, vandalizing local buildings and defacing or vandalizing private homes. The group has become confrontational when challenged.

It is not known if that group was involved in a confrontation at the skate park Aug. 2, in which a citizen reported he was confronted by a teen while riding at the park -- the suspect displaying a folding knife and cursing the victim. That incident is under investigation by Moraga police.
