Another Alleged Sex Worker Arrested At Lafayette Massage Parlor

Another worker was arrested at a Lafayette massage parlor after numerous complaints from neighbors.

Lafayette police, in an ongoing investigation into illicit activity at some of the city's massage parlors, arrested a 47-year-old Concord woman for prostitution after she allegedly solicited an undercover officer for sex.

Officers arrested Guifang Yu on suspicion of prostitution. She was booked into county jail.

Yu worked at the Letouch massage parlor in the 1000 block of Brown Avenue.

Neighbors have complained that the parlors are drawing a sketchy clientele to the area.

Lafayette police continue to investigate allegations of illegal activity at downtown massage parlors. Anyone with any information is asked to call the police at (925) 283-3680.

47 years old? Gross. She'd have to pay me.

A 47 year old should know better.
Chris Nicholson August 22, 2012 at 04:49 AM
Lemme guess: you're < 40. Heather Locklear is 50. If she worked there, I might be a regular. Ditto Terri Hatcher (also 47). In any case, I support your right as a prospective sex worker to sell your services to Ms. Yu or any other adult. Kudos to Lafayette PD for enforcing the law (that's their job). Shame on all of us for having dumb paternalistic laws.

Chris, you must not have hi-def TV.
Chris Nicholson August 22, 2012 at 05:00 AM
@Moribund: LOL! I do--- but I also have a mirror. 47 is not 17, but I don't think 47 is "gross."

It's not the years, it's the mileage.
Ian Lipnicky (still a SportsFan) August 22, 2012 at 05:52 AM
It's sad that a 47 year old woman feels she has to resort to this to make a living. It's also sad that some men think this is the only way they can have some physical contact with another person.

Why can't they ever seem to arrest any of the "johns?"
Chris Nicholson August 22, 2012 at 07:02 AM
Because the intent here is to put the places out of business, nothing more, nothing less. In general, no one really cares about this stuff unless they have to see it. No one wants street walkers or rub/tug joints near their homes. A sting operation to bust a few Johns is not an efficient means to the desired end.

It's more efficient to immediately sentence child rapists to life in prison with no parole, (especially when caught in the act, like Sandusky was), but we seem to pick and choose our efficiencies, depending on whom is targeted.
Chris Nicholson August 22, 2012 at 02:21 PM
Holy Non Sequiturs, Batman! What does that have to do with this? Are you alleging that Ms. Yu was/is a child rapist? Is there something about the undercover cop that you know that we don't?

I suggest Lafayette change the name of Mount Diablo Blvd to Patpong Road. When all those 'mud between toes" young girls leave their villages and come to the big city to escape incipient poverty, they will find it easy to locate eager Moma-sans. By 47 most 'massage' girls are banished to Patpong2 or worse. Doesn't speak well of eroding standards in Lafayette. -Read to refrain from, "One Night in Bangkok"-

But it would sure as heck tighten some jaws at the PTA!
Ian Lipnicky (still a SportsFan) August 22, 2012 at 03:57 PM
I would say it's very efficient. Set up a fake massage parlor. Run a few ads. Get the "johns" to drop by. Arrest them.

Sort of Lafayette's own Chris Hansen "To Catch a Predator" type deal.

I heard Acalanes wants to teach the high schoolers the importance of following local, current news events so it's planning to stage Best Little Whorehouse in Texas as the school musical this year.

I wonder how many massages the cop got on our tax dollars before he was offered sex? Le Touch, I am sure there is a pun in the name

Damn funny reading from beginning to end...

In these kind of operations you probably won't catch any johns... In this particular case the "john" was an undercover officer. The only way you'll probably nail johns is to have some of Lafayette's finest go undercover and strut their stuff up and down Mt. Diablo blvd. Of course LPD request a loan of Sgt. Yates of the SPPD for this.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butters%27_Bottom_Bitch
Deborah August 22, 2012 at 06:24 PM
Chris, I know you "get" analogies. I was pointing out there's many examples of due process, which is the opposite of efficiency, but is very important. Your citing efficiencies is a reality, but it doesn't make it right.
Eastofthehills August 22, 2012 at 06:40 PM
yes, yes let's cane the vandals, chop off the hands of thieves, suspend the licenses of cell phone talking suburbanite women for life, draw and quarter dui drivers, and stone adulters and questionable women...

I like the Batman comment by Chris N., hahahah
Deborah August 22, 2012 at 07:25 PM
I think it's funny too, actually...but there's secondary messages embedded in it, on top of the fact that Chris knows full well the analogy I was drawing. Hmmm, I bet Todd Akin would also think it's funny. Get the new analogy? I'll explain now, to mitigate more jabs and swipes (elicited maybe because Chris disagrees with my stance that prostitution actually does victimize): Arresting only the prostitutes, but not the johns is showing preferential treatment to men, which is part and parcel to misogyny, something for which Todd Akin is now infamous.

They do talk to the johns as they exit, but if you have no warrants, parole violations, etc it is catch and release like fishing. I was told the focus is on getting hard core visitors in custody, the ones who rob the bank to pay for sex! and I guess to get the word out to shop for sex in Moraga or Oakland. LPD says plenty of local catch and release; but I kind of suspect those Dicks and Johns will not repeat in Lafayette, just move on to Moraga for a Wonderful Massage near TJ Max.
lovelafayette August 23, 2012 at 05:10 AM
In my book the man who has to pay for sex or companionship has a much higher ICK GROSS factor than a 47 year old working girl.

It is no wonder that its called the "oldest profession". It is simply supply and demand., and perhaps if there wasn't a supply available, the men (or women) may resort to other means of getting their fulfillment, possibly by force. Frankly, I think that if it is between two consenting adults and nobody is getting hurt than it is none of our business.
Deborah August 23, 2012 at 10:53 PM
Hmmm, antiquated argument and mindset - that if men can't get some from a hooker, they'll resort to rape. And, if that mindset still exists, then we certainly must teach our sons to not rape when they fail at properly wooing a woman.
Deborah August 23, 2012 at 11:02 PM
And please remember in the old days, when the "oldest profession" originated, women were owned by their husbands and were sold as chattel. Today, many poor and disenfranchised female children and teens are sexually abused, with the intent of then forcing them into prostitution. Girls who're are sexually abused, often come from homes filled with violence and emotional dysfunction, which makes them perfect pickins for predators, who know those same girls thirst for someone to love them and care for them. And so, It is not a victimless crime. Trace it back, to understand its depth.
Carol Flowers August 27, 2012 at 11:29 PM
Arrest the johns. And publish their names. That would stop this in about 24 hours.
