Seismic Event: 3.6 Quake Shakes East Bay, Lamorinda
Mother Nature sent us a little wake-up call at 5:36 a.m. Thursday.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 3.6 earthquake rolling through the East Bay Thursday, reporting that the early morning wake-up call originated from an area a mile east of Berkeley.
Residents reported feeling a sharp jolt at 5:36 a.m. Thursday. Commuters on Lamorinda and Bay Area roadways appeared to have missed the event, although BART officials are slowing commuter trains in order to inspect tracks.
Epicentered in virtually the same area as two prior temblors, the quake appears not to have caused any damage.
