Rescue Helicopter Called for Briones Biker

Rescue crews responded to Happy Valley Road and Bear Creek Road to assist a bicyclist injured in a fall this morning.

Rescue crews were called to the area of Briones Regional Park early Saturday to assist a 53-year-old bicyclist who fell and suffered a possible concussion at Bear Creek and Happy Valley roads.

A call for help was made at around 9:16 a.m. and first responders mustered to reach the location - a favorite route for local cyclists.  A Reach helicopter was alerted and put on standby for a possible air evacuation due to the remote nature of the accident scene.

It was not immediately known if the cyclist was riding alone or with friends when the spill occurred.
