Police Track Car Burglar At Orinda BART
Police from Orinda and BART used a police dog to help track a man suspected of burglarizing cars in the parking lot of the Orinda BART station Thursday but lost him after he ran into Theater Square.
Orinda police and BART transit officers tracked a man witnesses said was burglarizing cars in the Orinda station parking lot Thursday - but lost him after he disappeared into Theater Square.
Witnesses reported seeing a man with a black backpack attempting to enter cars in the west parking lot of Orinda BART at around 9:25 a.m. Thursday and police were called.
BART officers used a police dog to search the area and reportedly found a discarded backpack with a stolen stereo unit inside. Other witnesses said the man ran into Theater Square, disrobing as he went. He has not been found.
