Police Investigate Sexual Assault at St. Mary's College

They are looking for a man not believed to be a St. Mary's student. The assault occurred at a residence hall early Saturday morning, police report.

Moraga police are investigating a sexual assault reported on a female student at St. Mary's College Saturday morning.

A local hospital reported the crime to Moraga police, according to a Public Safety Crime Alert by St. Mary's College.

The suspect is not believed to be a St. Mary's student. He is described as a white male, college age, 6-foot-1 tall, medium build, brown hair and blue eyes. There is no vehicle description for him, according to the crime alert.

The man and the St. Mary's student met in Berkeley Friday night, the News 24/680 website reported, and later returned to the St. Mary's campus. The assault occurred in one of the lower townhouse residence halls on the campus between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. Saturday.
