Lafayette and Moraga police officers were called out Sunday after an escalating domestic incident in Lafayette. Officers tracked a man believed behind an altercation at a residence in Lafayette to the town's Safeway store at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Several police officers searched for the man at the store after his car was found outside, police said, but were unable to immediately find him. The man was spotted leaving the area in a second car at about 11:30 a.m. and was followed onto Highway 24 and stopped near Orinda.
He was detained without incident.
