Woman Rescued From Car On Highway 24 East of Caldecott

Firefighters and CHP officers have extricated a woman trapped in a single vehicle accident on Highway 24 east of the tunnel.

Emergency responders have rescued a driver injured and briefly trapped in a mid-morning accident on Highway 24 east of the Caldecott Tunnel.

The unidentified female motorist was briefly trapped after a single-vehicle accident in the westbound lanes of Highway 24 this morning.  Rescue crews from the Moraga-Orinda Fire District were called out to assist with the extrication and her transfer to John Muir Medical Center.

On-scene personnel described the motorist's injuries as "serious" but "not life-threatening." The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
