Orinda Residents Pistol-Whipped, Robbed By Masked Intruders in Wednesday A.M. Break-In

Three residents of an Orinda home on La Espiral Road were sleeping when two masked intruders broke into the house early Wednesday, according to police.

The Orinda Police Department was called for a robbery report at 1:40 a.m. to the home on the first block of La Espiral, police said.

Three victims, all residents at the house, were reportedly asleep when two suspects -- armed and wearing masks -- woke them up and robbed them, police said.

The robbers pistol-whipped two of the residents, who were treated for their injuries at the scene by the fire department, according to police.

The suspects fled before the police arrived, and their descriptions and that of their getaway vehicle were reportedly vague and not released by authorities. The police also did not release details on items stolen in the incident.

The investigation into this case is ongoing.

Orinda officers said they are exploring the possibility that the suspects were acquainted with the home or residents.

One of the residents told police that the home's front door was not locked.

Anyone with any information on this case is asked to contact the Orinda Police Department at (925) 254-6820.
