Orinda Residents Attempting to Calm Traffic

Police Chief Jeffrey Jennings will address members of Orinda's Traffic Safety Advisory Committee on Monday and listen to residents' concerns.

Chief Jeffrey Jennings will update Orinda's Traffic Safety Advisory Committee (TSAC) on Monday evening on the impact his department has had in slowing speeders in town, as well as listening to what residents are experiencing in their neighborhoods.

Orinda police have been issuing citations and attempting to quell persistent reports of speeding in area neighborhoods in a campaign they've called "Slow Down Orinda," an offshoot of a similar program applied areawide after several high-profile traffic accidents in Lamorinda a few years ago.

Neighbors on Loma Vista have asked for help on their street, as have neighbors at Moraga Way and Southwaite Court. They will present their case to TSAC and to the chief at Monday's meeting.
