UPDATE: 1:10 P.M. -- PG&E Hopes to restore power to Risa Road homes blacked out when truck snagged power lines earlier today.
UPDATE: 10:46 A.M. -- PG&E crews have cut power to the downed lines.
Lafayette police have issued a "Shelter In Place" Order for the Risa Road area after a moving van knocked down high voltage power lines in the area Monday morning, trapping two men inside the truck.
Police are advising residences to stay inside their homes and businesses due to the possibility of severe electrical shock. Contra Costa County Fire District and Pacific Gas & Electric Company crews are responding.
The order was issued after the moving van struck a utility pole in the 900 block of Risa Road and brought the wires down, draping the truck and forcing the two men to remain inside the van.
Police advise anyone with a life-threatening emergency at your location to notify them via 9-1-1.
Risa Road is expected to be closed for the next two hours. Watch this site for more information as it become available.
