Moragan Gets Just a Little Too Close to the Garbageman

A driver trying to get around a Waste Management truck hits a worker - and the truck.

On May 26 a motorist trying to make their way around a Waste Management truck picking up garbage at Ascot Ct. and Ascot Dr. in Moraga accidentally struck the truck's driver - and then the truck - while trying to drive around it.

Police and Moraga-Orinda Fire District firefighters treated the unidentified, 41-year-old truck driver for head, back, and leg injuries and transported him to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he was later treated and released.

Officers determined that a tan 2002 Mercedes-Benz was attempting to pass the truck in the 1900 block of Ascot Dr. when the accident occurred. No citations were issued, police said.
