Some of the items on the Moraga Police Department logs from Dec. 19-22.

Thursday, Dec. 19

Jacket theft: Police were informed at 4:08 p.m. that a man had come into the Orchard Supply Hardware store on Canyon Road, grabbed two all-weather jackets and exited the store through an emergency door.

Friday, Dec. 20

Two-car accident: Officers responded at 3:27 p.m. to a two-vehicle accident on Rheem Boulevard. Police helped extricate the juvenile driver of one car. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor pain. The other driver was not seriously injured. One vehicle suffered major damage while the other suffered minor damage.

Saturday, Dec. 21

No license, no registration: Police stopped a car at 8:27 a.m. on Camino Pablo for exceeding the speed limit. The officers determined the driver did not have a proper license and his vehicle's registration had lapsed more than six months ago. The vehicle also had false registration tabs. The driver was cited for numerous violations and the car was towed from the scene

Package stolen: Officers were notified at 3:25 p.m. that a package had been stolen from the front porch of a home on Fernwood Drive. A white Cadillac with a woman driving and a man in the passenger seat was seen leaving the scene. The couple was also seen tossing the empty package box out of their car window.

Sunday, Dec. 22

Panhandling warning: Police were notified at 11:37 a.m. that a couple with three children was asking for money outside Saint Monica's Church at Canyon Road and Camino Pablo. The mother and father were warned about the town's panhandling laws. They left the area.

Fighting, spitting suspect: Police were sent at 8:23 p.m. to a business in the 1300 block of Moraga Way for a report of a woman fighting with employees. When the officers arrived, the woman took a fighting stance with rolled fists, then threw a purse at an officer. She was handcuffed and put into the back of a police car despite trying to resist officers. She then tried to spit on officers, so a "spit shield" was placed over her head and she was driven to County Jail in Martinez, charged with obstructing a peace officer and assaulting a peace officer.
