Moraga Police Investigating Pair of Residential Burglaries

Moraga police are looking for the person or persons responsible for a pair of recent burglaries.

Two residential break-ins were reported last week in Moraga.

The most recent occurred Feb. 27 in the 1900 block of Ascot Drive. Officers responded to an apartment in the neighborhood and met with a resident who reported that someone made off with $2,750 worth of property.

The resident guessed that the burglary took place sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and could not say for certain if the apartment was locked up at the time. There did not appear to be any evidence of forced entry.

On Feb. 24, officers were sent to the 1500 block of Moraga Way on a report of a burglary there. A male resident told officers he returned home at 3:30 p.m. to find his laptop computer gone, along with a jewelry box and wallet. The thief or thieves broke a downstairs window to enter the residence, officers reported, and neighbors questioned later said a car unfamiliar to them was seen leaving the neighborhood at about the time the robbery was reported.

Both cases remain under investigation, according to Moraga police.
