Moraga Police Investigate Car Window Smashes

A mountain bike and power tools were stolen from a pickup truck in a Moraga Road garage Thursday morning.

Police are investigating a thief or thieves who smashed windows on two vehicles in Moraga Thursday morning.

At 6:38 a.m. Thursday, someone smashed the driver's window of a white 2006 Nissan pickup truck parked in a garage at an apartment in the 600 block of Moraga Road. Power tools were stolen from inside the locked cab, and a mountain bike from the pickup bed. Police collected latent fingerprints from the scene. The loss was estimated at more than $1,000.

Almost two hours later, a passenger's side rear window was smashed in a gold 1999 Chevy Silverado pickup truck in the first block of Corte Santa Clara, which is off Moraga Road. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $200. No stolen property was reflected on the police report.
