Drug Kit Found Near Ascot Drive

On Feb. 16, Moraga police officers found a used syringe and a silver tablespoon with a burnt underside on a walking trail between 2129 and 2087 Ascot Dr. Officers photographed the items before picking them up and disposing of them.

Burglars Smash Car Windows for Golf Clubs, Purse

Police are investigating four smash-and-grab reports where windows were smashed out of locked vehicles and items stolen from inside.

On the night of Feb. 16-17, a Jeep Grand Cherokee parked at the curb in the 100 block of Natalie Drive was entered and golf clubs and a golf bag were stolen. On the night of Feb. 16-17, a Honda Odyssey parked in a driveway in the unit block of Buckingham Drive was entered and a road bicycle valued at $1,100 was stolen. On the same night, a Honda CVR parked in a driveway in the unit block of La Salle Drive was entered and a purse containing a bank debit card was stolen.

On the night of Feb. 19-20, a Jeep Cherokee in a parking stall in the 2100 block of Ascot Drive was entered and a wallet containing a bank debit card and miscellaneous gift cards was stolen.

 

Watermelons and Whipped Cream

Moraga police responded to a complaint to find juveniles in two vehicles in the parking lot of Los Perales Elementary School, 22 Wakefield Dr., at 9:52 p.m. Feb. 17. Police also found extensive littering in the form of smashed watermelons and sprayed whipping cream in the parking lot. Officers determined the juveniles at the scene were not involved in the littering, according to a police report.

 

Noisy Parties Draw Police Attention

Moraga police responded to multiple complaints about noisy parties recently:  They issued a warning to a party of about 25 people, inside and outside a residence in the unit block of Miramonte Drive at 12:15 a.m. Feb. 12. Less than half an hour later, they found a party of 100 people outside and another 100 inside a residence in the 2000 block of Ascot Drive and issued a warning to the renters. Down the block, about a half hour later, they broke up a noisy party in the 1900 block of Ascot Drive and issued another warning to the tenants.

At 10:21 p.m. Feb. 12, police responded to reports of underage drinking party underway in the 300 block of Rheem Boulevard, arriving to find about 40 high school students in attendance. The party host was released to his mother and placed in Moraga’s Juvenile Diversion Program, according to a police report.
