Moraga Police and Fire Assist Overdosing Teen

A 19-year-old man unconscious and not breathing after ingesting an unknown substance Sunday was revived by emergency responders.

A local man who collapsed after ingesting an unknown substance while at a residence in the 100 block of Shuey Drive in Moraga was revived by police officers and paramedics responding to a call for help there.

Police raced to the home at 10:58 p.m. Sunday to find the unidentified man on the floor, unconscious and not breathing.  Officers began CPR until Moraga-Orinda Fire District personnel reached the scene and continued emergency resuscitation procedures as the man was transported to Kaiser Hospital in Walnut Creek.

An investigation determined the man had taken something prior to his collapse.  He was listed in critical but stable condition at Kaiser.  It was not immediately known what the man had ingested, police said.
