Moraga PD: Toddler Goes Solo to the Bus Stop

Also, collaborations with Lafayette police and other investigations and crimes reported to the Moraga police from April 10 to April 13.

April 10

DUI collaboration. At 9:25 a.m. on Moraga Road, Moraga police officers responded to a report of a white Toyota truck swerving near Campolindo High. The truck struck a fence on Moraga Road near Oliver Court. The truck fled on Moraga Road north into the next city, where Lafayette PD arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI.

More collaboration. Moraga police assisted Lafayette PD in searching for burglary suspects and setting up a perimeter near Jennie Court, Lafayette.

Cyber-bully advice. Officers gave advice to a Rheem Boulevard resident about harassment via Internet suffered by her middle-school-aged daughter.

April 11

Carpet cleaners. At 6:54 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Larch Avenue for a complaint about subjects trying to sell carpet-cleaning devices out of a cardboard box. The solicitors was cited for not having a Town of Moraga solicitors permit.

April 12
2-year-old wandered off. At 11:14 a.m. on Moraga Road at Campolindo Drive, officers responded to a report of a found 2-year-old girl. Investigation revealed that the child's grandmother had been getting ready for an outing with the child and they were planning to walk to the bus stop together. The child, on her own, lit out unannounced and walked to the bus stop on Moraga Road. The child was unharmed and reunited with her family.

Bovine transit incident. A cow wandered onto St. Mary's Road at Bollinger Canyon Road but was gone by the time officers arrived. Police contacted the cattle owner and county Animal Control.

Residential burglary. A resident of the 3900 block of Campolindo Drive reported a burglary by forced rear door between 8 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. April 12. Police are investigating the loss of an estimated $12,000 in lost property, including electronic devices, jewelry and money.
