Man Alleges Abuse By Vacaville Scoutmaster
Solano County lawsuit claims repeated abuse three decades ago.
A 49-year-old man sued a regional Boy Scouts council on Wednesday, alleging he was sexually abused by his scout leader more than 30 years ago in Vacaville.
Coast Guard veteran Mark Dietrich filed the lawsuit in Solano County Superior Court claiming the scoutmaster of his Vacaville-based troop frequently molested him between 1978 and 1981. The scoutmaster, Gary Hatfield, 60, of Reno, denied the abuse and said he hardly remembered Dietrich, according to the Huffington Post.
