Late Night Orinda Crash Leads to Power Outage
A driver fled after hitting a power pole on Lombardy Lane late Sunday night, but was later caught by Orinda police.
Orinda residents in the vicinity of Lombardy Lane had their power knocked out early Monday morning after an errant driver hit a power pole, police said. The driver fled the scene of the accident but was later apprehended.
Two fire engines and one ambulance responded to the call at 12:20 a.m. Monday, police said, but no injuries were reported and power was restored to the surrounding homes by early morning.
The cause of the accident was not given.
