Orinda residents in the vicinity of Lombardy Lane had their power knocked out early Monday morning after an errant driver hit a power pole, police said. The driver fled the scene of the accident but was later apprehended.
Two fire engines and one ambulance responded to the call at 12:20 a.m. Monday, police said, but no injuries were reported and power was restored to the surrounding homes by early morning.
The cause of the accident was not given.
