Lafayette Police Log: Hotel Grand Theft, Home Burglaries, Reckless Drivers
Some of the incidents that kept Lafayette police officers busy this past week
Here are some of the items on the Lafayette Police Department log from Jan. 5 to Jan. 11.
Sunday, Jan. 5
Animal cruelty: A case of animal cruelty was reported to police at 10:35 a.m. The incident happened at School Street and Topper Court.
Monday, Jan. 6
DUI arrests: Two misdemeanor driving under the influence arrests were made shortly between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. The first happened at 1:19 a.m. at St. Mary's Road and Solara. The second was at 1:55 a.m. at Mt. Diablo Boulevard and Second Street.
Auto theft: A stolen car was reported to officers at 7:38 a.m. The vehicle was taken while parked in the 3700 block of Mt. Diablo Boulevard.
Tuesday, Jan. 7
Home burglary: Officers were notified at 11:49 a.m. that a home had been burglarized in the 10 block of Moss Lane.
Another burglary: Another home burglary was reported to police at 2:47 p.m. This one occurred in the 10 block of Pidgeon Court.
Hotel grand theft: Officers were informed at 6:10 p.m. that a grand theft had occurred at the Lafayette Park Hotel.
Wednesday, Jan. 8
Auto burglary: Police were notified at 8:59 a.m. that a car had been burglarized in the 20 block of Reliez Valley Court.
Another home burglary: Officers were informed at 11:54 a.m. that a home had been burglarized in the 3100 block of Condit Road.
Another grand theft: Police were informed at 12:09 p.m. that a grand theft had occurred in the 3200 block of Beechwood Drive.
Thursday, Jan. 9
Disturbing the peace: Officers were dispatched at 12:19 a.m. to the Roundup Saloon on Mt. Diablo Boulevard for a report of someone disturbing the peace.
Reckless driving: Police were notified at 10:40 p.m. that a reckless driver had been spotted near Lafayette Court and Hough Avenue. Officers were unable to locate the driver.
Friday, Jan. 10
Another reckless driver: Officers were informed at 12:20 p.m. about another reckless driver. This one was on Acalanes Road near westbound Highway 24.
Reckless again!: Another reckless driver was reported at 3:21 p.m. This one was spotted at Pleasant Hill Road and Olympic Boulevard. Officers were unable to locate the driver.
Drunk in public: A person was arrested at 9:32 p.m. for being drunk in public in the 1000 block of Second Street.
One more reckless: Officers were informed at 11:05 p.m. that a reckless driver had been seen at Pleasant Hill Road and eastbound Highway 24. Officers were unable to locate the driver.
Saturday, Jan. 11
Auto theft: Officers were notified at 4:30 p.m. that a car had been stolen from the 1200 block of Sunset Place.
Loud party: Police were dispatched at 10:57 p.m. to reports of a loud party in the 1000 block of Brown Avenue. Officers contacted those responsible.
DUI arrest: A motorist was arrested at 11:42 p.m. for driving under the influence at Mt. Diablo Boulevard and Mt. Diablo Court.
