Lafayette Police Log: DUI Arrests, Reckless Driving, Panhandling Complaints

Some of the incidents that kept Lafayette police officers busy this past week

Some of the items on the Lafayette Police Department logs from Dec. 29 to Jan. 4.

Sunday, Dec. 29

DUI arrest: A motorist was arrested at 1:34 a.m. at Acalanes Road and Mt. Diablo Boulevard for misdemeanor driving under the influence.

Reckless driving: Police were notified at 1:48 p.m. about a reckless driver at Moraga Road and St. Mary's Road. Officers were unable to locate the driver.

Monday, Dec. 30

Vehicle burglary: Officers were notified at 9:31 a.m. about an auto burglary that occurred at the Oakwood Athletic Club.

Grand theft: Police were informed at 2:26 p.m. that a grand theft had occurred in the 1100 block of Oak Hill Road.

Tuesday, Dec. 31

Panhandling: A complaint about a panhandler was made to police at 11:20 a.m. Officers contacted the individual in the 3500 block of Mt. Diablo Boulevard. Another panhandling complaint was made at 1:57 p.m. at the Safeway store. Officers also contacted that individual.

Loud party: Officers were notified at 11:03 p.m. about a loud party in the 
300 block of Colorados Court. Those responsible were contacted by police.

Wednesday, Jan. 1

Prowler: Police were notified at 5:32 a.m. about a possible prowler in the 3600 block of Bickerstaff Street.

Reckless driving: Another reckless driver was reported to police at 4:36 p.m. Officers were unable to find the driver in the Happy Valley Road area.

Thursday, Jan. 2

Vandalism: Officers were informed at 3:54 p.m. about some vandalism in the 1000 block of Brown Avenue.

Friday, Jan. 3

DUI arrest: Another motorist was arrested at 12:14 a.m. at Mt. Diablo Boulevard and First Street on misdemeanor driving under the influence.

More reckless driving: Another reckless driver was reported to police at 
11:23 a.m. near St. Mary's Road and Lucille Lane. Officers were unable to find the motorist.

Saturday, Jan. 4

More reckless driving: Three reckless driving incidents were reported to police between 4:26 p.m. and 4:37 p.m. In two of the cases, officers were unable to find the drivers. In the third incident, officers contacted the motorist in the Burton Drive area.
