Lafayette Police Log: DUI Arrests, Auto Burglaries, Grand Theft

Some of the incidents that kept Lafayette police officers busy this past week

Some of the items on the Lafayette Police Department logs from Jan. 12 to Jan. 18.

Sunday, Jan. 12

DUI arrest: A motorist was arrested at 2:05 a.m. in the parking lot at the Chow restaurant for driving under the influence.

Another DUI: Another motorist was arrested at 3:18 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Road and eastbound Highway 24 for driving under the influence.

Yet another DUI: One more motorist was arrested at 8:43 p.m. on Lafayette Circle for driving under the influence.

Monday, Jan. 13

Reckless driving: Police were informed at 3:52 p.m. that a reckless driver had been seen at Brown Avenue and Deer Hill Road. Officers were unable to locate the motorist.

Tuesday, Jan. 14

Loud noise: Police were dispatched at 7:25 a.m. for a report of loud noises at Topper Lane and St. Mary's Road. Officers contacted the people responsible.

Grand theft: Officers were informed at 2:30 p.m. that a grand theft had taken place in the 3500 block of East View Drive.

Wednesday, Jan. 15

Vandalism: Police were notified at 9:01 a.m. that some vandalism had occurred in the 1000 block of Buchan Drive.

Reckless driving: Police were informed at 3:16 p.m. that a reckless driver had been seen at Acalanes High School. Officers were unable to locate the motorist.

Home burglary: Officers were notified at 4:47 p.m. that a home had been burglarized in the 1000 block of Lorinda Drive.

Four auto burglaries: Police were informed of four auto burglaries that happened in less than two hours. The first was reported at 7:04 p.m. in the 1000 block of Oak Hill Road. Another car burglary was reported on the same block at 8:37 p.m. In between, auto break-ins were reported at 7:56 p.m. at Pet Food Express and at 8:07 p.m. in the 3500 block of Mt. Diablo Boulevard

Thursday, Jan. 16

Commercial burglary: Officers were notified at 1:40 p.m. that a commercial burglary had happened in the 3400 block of Golden Gate Way.

DUI arrest: A motorist was arrested at 6:19 p.m. for driving under the influence at Pleasant Hill Road and westbound Highway 24.

Reckless driving: Police were informed at 8:28 p.m. that a reckless driver had been seen at Springhill Elementary School. Officers were unable to locate the motorist.

Friday, Jan. 17

Grand theft: Officers were notified at 7:45 a.m. that a grand theft had taken place at the Oakwood Athletic Club.

Commercial burglary: Police were notified at 8:15 a.m. that a commercial burglary had occurred in the 1000 block of Oak Hill Road.

Home burglary: Officers were informed at 3:10 p.m. that a home had been burglarized in the 1100 block of Hidalgo Court.

Auto burglary: Police were informed at 4:21 p.m. that a car had been burglarized at Pine Lane and El Nido Ranch Road.

Saturday, Jan. 18

Another auto burglary: Officers were notified at 7:24 p.m. that a car had been burglarized in the Safeway parking lot.
