Lafayette Police Investigating Today's Fatal Accident on Upper Happy Valley & El Nido Ranch
The Lafayette Police Department received several reports at 1:13 p.m. today of a truck colliding with a female pedestrian at the intersection at El Nido Ranch and Upper Happy Valley roads within the city of Lafayette.
Officers, along with the fire department and an ambulance, responded and the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.

Her identity is not being released at this time.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with police, according to authorities.

The intersection is expected to remain closed for several hours.
