Police in Lafayette were busy handling the sort of calls officers normally see on their beats last week with one minor exception - the number of traffic stops in town jumped considerably.
Unofficially, police have indicated that the jump in traffic enforcement numbers is attributable to their two, newly dedicated motorcycle officers. Chief Mike Hubbard said earlier that the pair are addressing speed and distracted driving practitioners around town and to great effect.
Attached is the log issued by Lafayette police for incidents between July 31 and Aug. 6.
