Lafayette Police Blotter: Aug. 12 to Aug. 18

Burglars targeting homes and cars and animal cruelty allegations?

Busy week all around Lamorinda as vacationers return to the area like the famous swallows of Capistrano. Everyone is getting ready for school and the towns are jumping -- and this translates to more work for local police.

We're looking at some residential and car burglaries in Lafayette, some hard partying and noise issues -- and we think those reports of gunfire in the hills at night may actually be some unexpended fireworks left over from the Fourth.

But we're looking into some troubling occurrences and will update the site with any new information. Hopefully, you and yours did not make this week's "blotter."
