Investigators are looking into the cause of a one-alarm blaze at a Moraga condominium complex Wednesday.
Moraga-Orinda Fire District Division Chief Stephen Healy said the fire was reported at 4:44 p.m. in a four-condo cluster at 142 Ascot Court. Crews arrived at the location, found fire in the walls and attic of one condo but were able to stop it from spreading.
Healy said firefighters had the blaze under control in about 30 minutes. Two condos sustained "significant" damage and two residents were displaced.
A woman asleep in one of the condos when the fire broke out was awakened by firefighter and evacuated safely. No injuries to either residents or firefighters was reported.
The blaze caused roughly $50,000 in damage, and appears to have started on a second-floor balcony. A precise cause remains under investigation.
