Injured Pedestrian In Critical But Stable Condition

Woman hurt in Wednesday car-pedestrian collision on Moraga Way, Orinda, is in Walnut Creek hospital.

The pedestrian struck by a car in Orinda Wednesday was reported Friday in critical but stable condition at the Walnut Creek hospital.

The woman — injured around 8 p.m. Wednesday on Moraga Way near Valley View Drive — was in John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, according to an Orinda police report.

It was reported to police dispatch that on Moraga Way. The vehicle struck the woman and the dog, which were both injured, police reported. The dog was taken to the county Animal Services Department. Moraga Way was closed to traffic for a short period because of the collision.

A motorist who stopped to help the injured woman told Patch that the victim was wearing dark clothing.
