A resident living in the 300 block of Fernwood Drive became the latest of a long string of good-hearted people with apparently dodgy grandchildren to send money to a Candadian con artist in recent weeks.
The time-tested and productive (for the criminal) con went as usual: phone call to victim with con artist pretending to be incarcerated grandchild, doting grandparent sends $5,100 in "bail money" to a blind address in Canada, money long gone before resident realizes grandson is actually safe at home.
Our most recent victim sent the money off in two separate, and untraceable, money orders.
