Former Fire Captain Pleads Not Guilty to Burglary Charges

Prosecutors allege that Jon Wilmot stole hundreds of items from four fire stations.

A former fire captain pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of commercial burglary, embezzlement and other charges, according to the Contra Costa Times.

In February, Contra Costa County prosecutors claimed that Jon Wilmot of Danville stole hundreds of items from the Contra Costa Fire Protection District where he worked for 27 years. Prosecutors say that the stolen items range from pencils to chainsaws and came from four firehouses, including stations in Orinda, Lafayette and Concord.
