Dublin Bank Robbed; Has Lafayette Robber Moved South?

A man walked into a Dublin bank Tuesday and left with an unknown amount of cash -- that didn't belong to him. Police say he is the same man believed responsible for a similar bank robbery in Lafayette.

A man robbed the inside the on Dublin Boulevard on Tuesday, Lieutenant Herb Walters said.

 "At 3:12 p.m., we received details of a robbery at the US Bank located inside the Safeway store on Dublin Boulevard," commented Walters. "No weapon seen, just a note. An unknown amount of cash was taken. Dublin police units, including investigations, saturated the area but were unable to locate the suspect."

Walters said there was no information about any vehicle associated with the robbery and that the man left in an unknown direction of travel.  

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-30s, six feet tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds. The man was wearing a black baseball hat, a black long sleeved shirt and blue jeans.

According to Walters, this is believed to be the eighth robbery committed by the suspect in the past three weeks. He is believed to have robbed a bank in Pleasanton, San Leandro and Lafayette.
