Drunk Drivers Keep Rolling In Moraga - Even On a Blown Tire, and After Hitting Things

A couple of local youths run afoul of the law - and a mailbox.

Moraga police officers were on hand July 21 when a car clocked at speeds in excess of 65 mph blazed by them while travelling west on Moraga Way, police said.

The car was stopped and officers noted the 19-year-old driver's eyes were bloodshot, his speech was slurred and he smelled of alcohol. A breath test confirmed officer's suspicions and the lad was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

He was subsequently released to a sober family member.
