Double Bust at Moraga HomeGoods Store Tuesday

Pair of suspects -- with kids in tow -- allegedly swiped items from shelves and "returned" them for credit.

Two women were arrested Tuesday -- as their small children sat nearby -- after allegedly "returning" items stolen from the MoragaHomeGoods store, according to police.

Moraga Police Department officers were called around 2 p.m. to the Moraga Road store where they arrested Dominika Johnson, 25, of Oakland, and Kendra Hill, 28, of Antioch, for suspicion of burglary and conspiracy, police said.

The suspects reportedly entered and took items from inside the store, then took the pilfered goods to a clerk to claim as returns -- receiving cards for store credit, police said.

Johnson is allegedly a repeat offender and familiar to the Moraga store employees, who documented her previous offenses on March 31, April 3 and April 5, and reported them to law enforcement on April 7, police said.

During Tuesday's arrests, children were located in the suspects' car, and were tended to at the scene until a relative arrived, police said.

In addition to burglary and conspiracy charges, Hill was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility on alleged child endangerment.

Johnson, meanwhile, was booked at Martinez on four counts of suspected burglary, conspiracy, receiving stolen property, violation of probation, and two outstanding arrest warrants for traffic violations and grand theft, police said.

Three Orinda Police Department officers assisted with the case, police said.
