Car Fire Closes Pleasant Hill Road On Monday Morning

Authorities shut down the major thoroughfare while firefighters extinguished a vehicle blaze

A car fire briefly shut down Pleasant Hill Road in Lafayette on Monday morning.

The blaze was reported at 7:09 a.m. near Taylor Boulevard and Greenhills Drive, according to Contra Costa County Fire Prevention Capt. Robert Marshall.

Firefighters found a Chevy Suburban fully engulfed and asked Pleasant Hill police to close Pleasant Hill Road.

Fire crews extinguished the flames at 7:23 a.m. and the road was re-opened.

No injuries were reported.
