Burglaries Were Up Last Week in Orinda

A look at police activity in Orinda last week.

Burglaries in Orinda were up last week, according to police. A rash of thefts from both homes and vehicles have police focusing their efforts on this problem, said police chief Scott Haggard.

There were four home burglaries: an attempted burglary on Overhill Rd., and three other burglaries at homes on La Campana, El Toyonal and Van Tassel Lane.

Three auto burglaries occurred on Bates Blvd., Orinda Way, and Via Floreado.

Police are urging residents to keep a sharp eye out for suspicious activity in their neighborhoods. An unfamiliar car or suspicious person might be worth reporting to police.
