Today is sentencing day for Nicolas Flatbush, convicted of robbing Moraga resident Hamed Mirabdal in 2006 while Mirabdal was attempting to buy guns to support his drug business.

A Berkeley man convicted for his role in the 2006 attack on a former Campolindo football player turned drug dealer will learn his sentence Tuesday in Alameda County Superior Court.

Nicolas Flatbush was found guilty of a robbery charge after he and another man carried out an assault on Hamed Mirabdal, reportedly to rob Mirabdal of money he was carrying to buy weapons.

Mirabdal was stabbed 25 times during the attack and nearly died. He remains paralyzed on his left side as a result of wounds suffered during the attack.
