Auto vs. Biker at Rheem Blvd. and St. Mary's Road

A 16-year-old cyclist had a run-in with a car at Rheem and St. Mary's Road this morning. He's okay, but he's not the only one...

A 16-year-old bicyclist out for a morning ride was hit by a car and knocked to the ground by a car at Rheem Blvd. and St. Mary's Road Wednesday.

Moraga police and fire were quickly on the scene and the young man was checked out after complaining of pain.  He asked to go on his way and was released a short time after the mishap occurred at 8:10 a.m.

Earlier this month, a 59-year-old Moraga man was struck in the crosswalk in front of the Moraga Library at 1500 St. Mary's Road, and thrown onto the hood of a car driven by a 61-year-old Oakland resident traveling west on St. Mary's.

The cyclist in the June 9 incident was treated for a cut to his face at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek and later released.  His bike was was a total loss.
