Another -- Attempted -- Daylight Burglary In Lafayette

Lafayette residents living in neighborhoods within close proximity of Highway 24 have been on alert lately after a series of brazen daylight burglaries.

Neighbors on Leland Drive in Lafayette report that another of these burglaries was attempted today, Tuesday, at 11:45 a.m. in the 1000 block of the street, which is a few turns off of Highway 24.

Residents report that a black Ford SUV with three Hispanic males aboard stopped at the residence at that time, one man knocked, and then an attempt at entry was made with the would-be burglars using a crow bar on the front door. We are not sure at this point if the owner was home and scared off the trio or if neighbors came to the rescue.

Police say that the car is a dark colored 1993 Ford Exporer with a license plate number of 3CIL207.
