After Prostitution Arrest, Police Close Massage Parlor

Oakland woman arrested at Gold Tub parlor on Mount Diablo Boulevard, Lafayette.

A series of prostitution arrests at Lafayette massage parlors continued into 2013 with an arrest Friday afternoon.

At the Gold Tub establishment at 3486 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Xiu Bo Wang, 25, of Oakland, was arrested on a charge of solicitation to engage in prostitution. She was issued a citation and released, according to a press release by Lafayette police spokesman Jimmy Lee.

Gold Tub's certificate to operate in Lafayette was revoked; Lee said officers found "numerous violations" of the city's massage establishment law. Lafayette last fall began implementing a new set of regulations on massage parlors, encouraging legitimate outlets and setting rules to weed out faux parlors that are covers for prostitution.
