Lamorinda Town Hall Meeting at Lafayette Veteran's Center 6/27

Over 300 residents of Lamorinda attended the Town Hall meeting and were treated to a presentation of Plan Bay Area impacts and the Orinda Housing Element issue.

A great showup given the extremely short notice to everyone.  Everyone had a greater knowledge of the issues and most attendees were dismayed that the residents are being denied the right to vote on this massive plan that effects the entire Bay Area (101 cities 9 counties) until at least 2040.  Also the fact that the Orinda City Council steadfastly refused to honor Orinda Watch's offer to provide a similar presentation to the Council as an Agenda item after repeated requests.

A planned vote by the ABAG-MTC executive committee to approve the plan is scheduled for July 18, 2013.   Further evidence that these agencies are attempting to crame this down everyone's throat and present the Plan as a done deal.   A call to your city council could help tip the balance.
