Talk Amongst Yourselves -- It's Speakers Corner!

The closest thing to verbal anarchy as you'll find here at Lamorinda Patch... today is Speakers Corner Day. What do you want to talk about?

Olympics in full swing with . Local government looking for . . . And researchers asking for public help from amateur scientists to help them track .

That's what we've been writing about, but what do you want to talk about?

Judging from your emails, you're interested in just about everything going on around town. Anything else? Bring it on, here's your chance to get that pet peeve or grand idea off your chest and in front of the public at large.

Welcome to , where every topic is open to discussion and conversations and dialogue take on a life of their own.

Carry on, people, and remember - Love Thy Neighbor. Here are our in case you need a reminder. Have fun.

Lots of smoke in Lafayette looks like PHill Road

Do women even read Cosmo anymore? Seriously. One of its lead stories for August is "When Your Vagina Acts Weird After Sex". Huh? Are we talking weird like it wants to take your iPod and play "Total Eclipse of the Heart" on repeat mode, drive around town aimlessly, and go out for cotton candy? Sometimes I can't tell if Cosmo is for real or a parody like "The Onion".

Um. No. At least I don't....

Amy - I can't blame you.
Amanda July 31, 2012 at 06:44 PM
Nope. No Cosmo here. I read Runner's World and SI.

Vanity Fair. For the articles.

Ugh! Leafblowers. Especially on these hot days when our windows are open, since we don't have AC.

Is it possible to give you a thumbs up here? Dont see it but I sure would if i could. I hate those darn things.

I think we should cut down all the trees that will solve the leaf blower problem. Wait no, they make a racket when they are being ground up as well. I found that out today. Noisy.

All I know is that the mow and blowers must have great lobbyists in Washington. It is beyond belief that they are allowed to operate this way.
Amanda August 01, 2012 at 02:20 AM
Apparently, people are scared of leaves falling onto their property.

In mankinds fight against the evil leaf we must bring all weapons to the fight. We have blowers, we have mulchers.... I have designed the ultimate weapon --- the leaf flame thrower. Nothing left of them after I'm done. Nothing left of my house either but I'm working on that ....

Someone should alert City Hall about these universally hated debris blowers. Clearly blowers aren't useful to anyone and annoy everyone.
SevenMary7 August 01, 2012 at 01:45 PM
Everyone except city hall.
Quiet Orinda August 01, 2012 at 05:00 PM
Excellent advice Chris! We're working on it... just in time for the election season.
Amanda August 01, 2012 at 07:21 PM
If only I had all the excess money that some of our city officials have and then I could also buy those triple paned windows and AC.
