We have decided to form a small group of teens (20+-) and parents who are willing to devote a little time, effort and energy. Our reward will be to provide an opportunity for our young men to develop their physical skills while learning how to balance work and play (school and baseball).
Games will start at 6 p.m. every other Sunday evening in September, 5:30 p.m. in October and 5 p.m. in November. The games will last 1 and a half to 2 hours.
A barbeque will take place during the games to ease the “dinner on Sunday” logistics we all deal with when having additional sports activities to our children’s schedule as well as providing a social medium for parents. The cost of food and drinks for the barbeques will be split equally. The theme of eating healthy by cooking ground chicken/turkey and chicken sausages, there are many flavors with good nutritional value for $3/pound. Beverages are open but we want to discourage soda and would recommend low sugar sports drinks and water.
Practice will take place twice a week Tuesday and Thursday evening, starting at 6:30 p.m. in September, 6 p.m. in October, and 5:30 p.m. in November, lasting about an hour. The location, both for practice and games is yet to be determined.
Sign-ups will start as soon as possible. When considering signing up, please understand that we are sharing the workload so that no one has the burden of practice and or game management every time. Parent business schedules will determine a lot.
Equipment will be pooled unless some parents have sports connections that would allow sponsorship by providing equipment. In the event this does not take place, we will all contribute money to acquire the necessary equipment to safely execute the program.
