Some of the people with ties to Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda who have passed away recently
Daniel Murphy Jr.: A resident of Moraga, Murphy was a U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of U.C. Berkeley. He was an insurance broker and owned the D. M. Diversified brokerage. Murphy enjoyed playing golf at the Moraga Country Club. He died on June 29 at the age of 87.
Dr. Francis Joseph Schnugg, M.D.: A resident of Orinda for more than 60 years, Schnugg practiced for more than 35 years at Alta Bates and other medical centers in the Bay Area. He served as chief of staff as well as president of the Alameda-Contra Costa Medical Association. He died July 1 at the age of 91.
