An Orinda doctor has been given a distinguished service award from the California Hospital Association.

Dr. Scott Zeller was recognized by the non-profit organization for developing, promoting and leading efforts to understand the effectiveness of a psychiatric emergency services framework known as the "Alameda Model," according to a release by Globe Newswire.

Each year, the hospital association's Center for Behavioral Health recognizes medical professionals who promote excellence in behavioral health care.
