Lafayette Flag Brigade's 10th Annual 9/11 Remembrance and Candlelight Vigil

This is our schedule of events for the Lafayette Flag Brigades' 10th Annual 9/11 Remembrance and Candlelight Vigil:

Who: The Lafayette Flag Brigade's 10th Annual 9/11 Remembrance and Candlelight Vigil

What: Never Forgetting 9/11 with the largest overpass flag display in the State, including the arrival of  a 40,000 lb. trailer holding 3 large sections of steel recovered from the WTC at ground zero.*  Program also features VIP speaker, FDNY fireman Sean Hickey, leader of rescue team at
ground zero, live music performances, as well as the United States Volunteers' and their flag folding ceremony, the Blue Star Moms', and  the Lafayette Boy Scouts Color Guard.

Our special 10th anniversary music program, the 9/11 Memorial Theatre as well as the candlelight vigil at dusk,
are not to be missed. This is a family oriented, non-political event, where all are welcome.

Where: El Curtola Bridge, Hwy 24 overcrossing @ 680 Freeway, Lafayette. Take Hwy 24 to the Pleasant Hill Rd. Exit, turn on Old Tunnel Rd, go to top of hill.

When:  September 11th, 2011 , from 3 pm to 8 pm.  *   World Trade Center Steel Beams arrives @ 3:00 p.m.  *   FDNY Fireman Sean Hickey speaks @ 5:30 pm  *   Candlelight Vigil begins @ 7:30 pm. *

Why:  To Never Forget - History Forgotten is History Repeated

* This historic and  educational exhibit is being transported to us by Mike Harris of  Harris Trucking , Livermore. Mike will leave Livermore on 9/11/11, Sunday,  with the artifacts in tow, escorted by two pilot trucks and numerous support  vehicles and arrive at the El Curtola Bridge at 3 pm. Following the beam from Livermore will be the Flying 25th Infantry Huey Helicopter, which will be performing a fly over of the event.
