Newspapers Endorse Fred Wright Lopez for BART Board

Today, the Bay Area News Group, publishers of the Contra Costa Times, Oakland Tribune, Mercury News and numeorus local newspapers endrsed Fred Wright Lopez, a retired US Tresury Department Attorney for BART Director District 3 whcih includes parts of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.  Lopez is a  eighteen year resident of Lafayette and a member of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's Policy Advisory Council and has sered in previous advisory roles with the Contra Costa Transportation Authority.  Lopez who is blind has focused his campagin on the issues of: Reducing Crime; Cleaning Up BART; Improving Accessibility for the disabled; and Controling BART's Costs.  In endosrsing Fred  Wright Lopez for District 3, the Editorial stated: "Lopez is the only district candidate who fully recognizes the (fiscal) problem, warining of a fiscal precipice ahead."   Read the full Tribune and Contra Costa Times Editorial in todays newspapers or go to one of the following links.
