East Bay Children’s
Theatre, the San Francisco Bay Areas oldest Continuously Operating
Theatre Company, proudly presents a World Premiere Musical for our
exciting 81st
season.
version of the classic tale will delight children and adults alike
with its upbeat attitude, clever comedy, and Broadway-style songs.
The wacky cast of characters includes the troubled title character,
an overworked and underpaid Golden Goose, and a
diminutive Giant with an enormous Napoleon complex!
With a sparkling new
script and score by award-winning writer-composer Ron Lytle (the Bay
Area’s most prolific creator of new musicals), and direction by Sue
Ellen Nelsen (whose many honors include directing the San Francisco
Chronicle’s #1 Show of the Year), JACK and
the BEANSTALK… promises
to be must-see entertainment for the entire family!

The Cast includes talent
brought together from around the Bay Area: Liam Gaard (Jack), Gabriel
Ross (The Giant), Jeffrey Morrill (The Peddler), Caroline Schneider
(Lucy the Goose), Diana Kehrig (Rita the Cow), Eve Tieck (Momma) and
Marian Simpson (The Mayor). Members of the Ensemble include: Elissa
Berall, Harriet Hanauer, Bill Liebman, Gina Moreno, Nancy Morton,
Grace Poon, Barbara Sloane, and Wayne Steffen.
In addition to a six-week
tour of area elementary schools, East Bay Children’s Theatre will
be presenting public performances of ”JACK
and
the
BEANSTALK (And
the Giant, and the Goose, and the Really, Truly-Uly Rotten Day”
on March 23 (2:00 pm) at The Jewish Community Center of the East Bay
in Berkeley, and March 30th (2:00
pm) at Town Hall Theatre in Lafayette. All tickets are $12.00 and
