It's princess Aurora's sixteenth birthday, and Flora, Fauna and Merryweather must use their fairy magic to save her from the spell of evil sorceress Maleficent.

 

This classic fairytale told Disney-style features a large chorus, from King Stefan and Queen Stefanie's Loyal Subjects to Maleficent's slimy goons, giving members of Kids Theatre plenty of fun characters to portray. Songs from the beloved film, including "Once Upon a Dream," accompany fun new songs like "Maleficent!" and "A Little Magic Now" to bring a fresh telling of the story to a new generation of kids and families.

 

The Kids Theatre program, for children ages 7-12, is an integral part of Youth Theatre Company’s (YTC) four stages of education. It continues honing the young performers skills through performance-based learning. YTC begins with Mini-Kids Theatre (ages 5-7) then goes to Kids Theatre followed by the more competitive Junior Theatre, where the finer skills of dance, vocals, character development and production are learned and, finally, Teen Theatre, which continues on skill refinement while also acting as role models and mentors for the other segments of YTC.
