WOMEN IN POLITICS: A SUCCESSFUL ELECTION CYCLE FROM EMERGE CALIFORNIA

The Lamorinda Democratic Club's Friday, January 11,
meeting will feature a presentation by Emerge California Executive Director Kimberly Ellis. Ms. Ellis will talk about Emerge California's successful efforts to help change the face of California politics by identifying, training
and encouraging women to run for office, get elected and seek higher office.

Prior to becoming the Executive Director of Emerge
California, Ms. Ellis was Emerge America's National Affiliate Director. A 2007 Emerge California graduate, Kimberly also has personal experience with the Emerge program and the mission of the organization.

The Emerge Program’s intensive, cohort-based seven-month training program is unique. As the number of elected Democratic women remains flat or even declines,
the need for the Program’s work is growing.
